A general tree survey of the tree population on your property may be commissioned for specific reasons or simply based on a desire to have a record of the tree species on your property.
A common use is to identify whether trees have the potential to cause direct or indirect damage to your property. A scaled plan, a tree schedule, assessment of how and if trees may damage your property and, if necessary, recommendations for appropriate work with a timescale for implementation are provided to pre-empt damage and avoid the need to make claims.
Much of the cost derives from the site survey, plotting of trees and production of the plan. Once completed, it can, therefore, be used as the foundation for updating the survey in the future or adapted for other purposes.
Since tree surveys are only of value if kept up to date, the individual tree assessment trees would need to be carried out periodically but the mapping and plotting need not be repeated.
